You can skip the tutorial at the very beginning, that's what I did and then I just got the quest for that Idol where I have to ask 10 lords about it and got plopped into the world. I don't know if there are any other points where you can skip it past that point though. That 10 lords quest is worse than the tutorial. It should be skippable.
