NFS Underground 2 was designed during a time when we didn't have multi-core processors. What I've found is that to fix the random crash, I have to go into task manager and set the affinity to be only 1 core. this will lock it into a single thread and let you run the game smoothly. otherwise, it doesn't know what to do with all of you extra threads.
