The E89's fuel usage in normal use is much better than the E86 though. A much cheaper car to live with - a difference I'd expect on the 28i too. The E89 is also a much more refined cabin than the E86 and is much easier to drive (not that the E86 is any way hard), but, the E89 is an unforgivingly hard crashy ride on 19" RFTs.

I'm contemplating purchasing either an E86 Z4 3.0si 6MT, E86 Z4M 6MT or potentially E89 Z4 6MT for weekend trips and occasional track use, so on paper the Z4-M seems like a bit overkill. That's an understatement. Hell, it's only $15.00 and only took 20 minutes to install, and yes, I now run -2.5' of camber in the front. I would not dial it back for anything. Car is neutral with a tad of oversteer. just the way it should have come from the factory. . 189 277 151 72 67 4 110 343 242
